Hillcrest Academy is a 501(C)(3), non-sectarian, coeducational
day school, serving children in grades kindergarten through
eight. Hillcrest was originally founded as a Carden school
in Temecula in 1977. Hillcrest provides a comprehensive, sequential,
integrated curriculum that concerns itself with the development
of the whole child in a nurturing, safe environment.
Hillcrest offers a rich humanities based program that emphasizes
problem solving and critical thinking skills. Beginning in
kindergarten and continuing through eighth grade, students
learn French daily, and study art and music in addition to
their academic subjects of math, language arts, science, history
and geography.
In fourth grade, Spanish becomes a foreign language choice,
and middle school students also participate in drama and speech.
All students may access information from our computer lab
and individual classroom computers. Keyboarding instruction
is part of our fourth and fifth grade curriculum while middle
school students spend a quarter of the school year leaning
all aspects of Microsoft Word. Physical education rounds out
the curriculum while field trips to Sacramento, the Pilgrim
in Dana Point, the Catalina Island Marine institute, New England,
Spain, and France enhance and connect the learning experience
for Hillcrest students.
Most Hillcrest students live in the Temecula Valley, which
encompasses the cities of Murrieta and Temecula. The Temecula
Valley, located at the southern end of Riverside County, is
the fastest growing area in Southern California.
Hillcrest endeavors to graduate deeply connected children
who show both compassion and passion for people, for their
own goals and dreams, for life itself.
